It suits several occasions: Shani Jayanti, Shani Dev's birthday and the most important festival for his worship; Shani Amavasya, when Amavasya falls on a Saturday, holding great significance for Shani puja; every Saturday (Shanivar), the most common day for regular Shani Dev puja; Shani Trayodashi, when Pradosh and Trayodashi fall on a Saturday, considered especially auspicious; Somvati Amavasya, primarily a day for Shiv puja, though some traditions also observe Shani-related worship on it; and the period around Dhanteras and Narak Chaturdashi during Diwali, when some Shani temples and traditions hold special puja.
